I have stayed in many top notch hotels, but the service and class at the taj was exceptional. It just was an absolutely wonderful experience.I Can't wait to stay there again.'@

The hotel service was a new experience for me. It was excellent!! Everyone was extremely helpful. Attention to detail is the best word to describe it.

Rooms are very nice and tasteful, but don't expect a suite style room. Just a small size bedroom with bathroom decorated with elegance and taste. Room was nice, stilish and comfy, but not impressive. Compared to the rest of the hotel, the rooms were a bit too standard.

I was completely charmed by my stay at the Taj Mahal. All the staff were kind and courteous, the location was perfect for me, on my first visit to India. An example of the loving attention to detail I received was when I found my book, which I'd left open, carefully closed with a book mark in it. The outdoor pool is large and fantastic, surrounded by the old architecture of the Taj Palace itself ( I stayed in the tower but it is seemlessly connected to the Palace on the ground floor), I swam at night, under a clear sky (surprising during monsoon!). The breakfast choice is well presented and well cooked, service attentive and friendly.

Only on a matter of budget, the bar prices are very high, although the story that goes with the signature cocktail is brilliant and enthusiastically told!

    Fabulous

The good views from the room, the decoration of the hotel, the swiming-pool, but for me NO good relation quality-price They blocked me from my credit card 15.000 ruppies just when i arrived! that's rude from my point of view , and i stayed only one night. I don't want imagine if i stayed there one week, how much money they would ask me for advanced??

I think a basic breakfast should be included acording with the price, and it wansn't included if found the room a bit small acording with the price i paied NO good relation quality-price

    Superb

Room was very comfortable and clean. The service from every member of staff was excellent. We dined in the Zodiac Grill and unfortunately we were the only ones that evening (actually we had tried to get a table in the rooftop restaurant but it was booked), however the food was amazing and the service was very friendly. The waiters brought over a few extra small bites to try between the courses and were friendly without being overbearing.

My husband and I had different experiences in the spa, he was given more information about what to do/not to do after the treatment (we had the same one). This is only minor but I guess if you're paying top prices then you would expect the service to be consistent. But overall there wasn't much not to like about the Taj!

We were a family of 6 travelling to Mumbai for our son's wedding. This hotel was such a haven of peace and luxury at what was a very exhausting time for us. Everything about the hotel was perfect. We loved the tour of the hotel as well which was so interesting. Find the time to do this. The view from our rooms was spectacular. The breakfast was impressive and the staff at all times so attentive but not intrusive. Thank you to the Taj for your professionalism and keep up the great work. I will recommend all our friends to stay.

Excellent service and facilities and a stunning building with so much history.

They were a bit funny when we tried to book a local taxi to take us to the airport, they wouldn't let it come into the driveway so we had to carry our bags outside to the street. The hotel cab at 4,000 rps (more than £50) is far too expensive when a local taxi costs c500 rps (about £7).

The service generally was unparalleled - the staff were extremely courteous and helpful. We spent New Year's eve at their Aquarius restaurant and it was magical!! (Thanks to Pradeep's regime)

We stayed in the heritage palace part of the hotel and windows to Marine Drive were not openable, i.e. we had to keep the air conditioning on or the fan.

Everything was amazing! Our butler and concierge were very attentive and amazing. Room was immaculate and furnishings were amazing. Little touches were outstanding like tv in mirror in bathroom, huge shower head coming out of ceiling in shower cubicle. Info on hotel and other taj hotels around the world made a very nice read. Lots of magazines. Excellent that you can hook up iPad and iPod to tv through computer. Area for tea and minibar was fully stocked and had an amazing range. Room service was perfect and we had a very romantic lunch looking out over the gateway of India. Free high tea, cocktails and chocolate and cognac tasting came with our upgraded room. Pool is amazing, very refreshing from the heat of Mumbai.

Food from room service was ok, portion size not massive for price considering what we're used to for 300 rupees in 3 stars. Film choice on pay per view was not too good.

    Very good

    Nice, old. Historical place.

Booked.net are proposing only the Tower. it's not a Taj as it normally is. It's just normal, quite old hotel. rooms are small and poor, more like old Marriot (and I stayed in Delux which doesn't look any close to delux).

A/C should be less, all the public areas in the hotel are to cold: reception area, bars, restaurants, etc.

    Fabulous

Basically a really enjoyable experience.... Food was amazing, rooms lovely... Although quite a bit of traffic noise... No proper double glazing. A few small complaints, I found the staff intrusive, especially inside the corridors, trailing behind you, often looking for tips. Yet the staff in the outdoor restaurant often ignore you and service/food is really slow to come. I used the Gym which was great. The spa was not great, I had a facial and they started using this dreadful contraption/machine on my face.... I have had facials all over the world and have never come accross a facial like this one... really unpleasant, and i asked the girl to stop using it. Instead she should be using some better quality products/creams. But the experience of staying in the Taj was really enjoyable... the noise of traffic by the pool is a shame... but that's Mumbai... and unavoidable. I think the reason the above complaints are there is because otherwise it was an amazing hotel... although the price of a 45 minute taxi ride to the airport was ridiculously expensive, more expensive than London infact! 41,000.00 Rs including tip is just too much for 45 minutes. I think you should reconsider.

I liked their welcoming . As when I arrived , there was a lady waiting me by a big smile ,and I didn't apply to the desktop , I went directly to the room , and there she took from me the details needed .. So I prefer this Hotel as one of the best five stars Hotel in the world ..

As all 5 stars Hotel , the wifi should be free of charge . As it is free in 2 stars Hotels ..
